Our Story

THE, The Hirst Experience, is a family-owned business that was founded under the holding company of Textech Cape which began in 1998. Founded by Mark Hirst, Textech Cape originally started out selling textile machinery in SA, with the vision of one day working alongside his 4 children. In 2010, the business diversified into the textile manufacturing sector, servicing the local yarn twisting and package-dye preparation market. This is when his eldest son Jéan joined the company.

After studying, training and qualifying with honors, many learning curves and hard work, he too has made a name for himself within the textile industry in SA.
After 8 years, we were offered an opportunity to manufacture socks, and this is when, in 2018, his 2nd eldest son Ashley joined. With the addition of his technical design qualifications and perfection skills, they started their own

THE sock brand.  THE first manufactured PPE Safety socks, but have since expanded the range into various high-quality sport and active-wear socks, as well as leisure and fun customized socks.

Finally in 2021 Mark’s vision came to fruition when both daughters, Jade and Amber joined. A medical division was formed to manufacture woolen orthopedic socks for the South African and  international markets.
